Howes Percival appoints specialist Commercial Health Partner

Leading law firm Howes Percival has boosted its Corporate team with the recruitment of Oliver Pritchard, a corporate and commercial Partner, who specialises in healthcare and social care.

Oliver was previously a Partner and Head of Commercial Health at Browne Jacobson LLP in Nottingham and is relocating back to Norfolk where he grew up. He has been appointed as the leading corporate partner in the East Anglia region with responsibility for the growth of the corporate teams across the Norwich and Cambridge offices.

With 20 years’ experience as a transactional and advisory corporate lawyer, Oliver is recognised by the 2020 edition of the legal directory ‘Chambers and Partners’ as a leading lawyer nationally in the healthcare sector.  He has a wealth of experience in leading teams of lawyers on corporate transactions and other large-scale projects within the public and private sectors.

Oliver’s recent transactions include the sale of Care Fertility Group to Silverfleet Capital, the sale of 4Ways Healthcare to ECI Partners, and the merger of Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Oliver’s arrival further strengthens the Norwich corporate team, following the recent appointment of Richard Turner, previously of Leathes Prior.  Oliver will also be an important part of Howes Percival’s national Corporate, Commercial and Banking (CCB) team’s growth strategy. The firm has made a series of eye-catching, senior corporate and banking appointments in recent years, and the CCB team is on track to deliver new business growth of 25%, compared to the previous financial year.

Tessa Haskey, Partner and Howes Percival Chairman commented, “I’m delighted to welcome Oliver to the firm.  He is well-respected and a highly experienced corporate lawyer.  His experience of complex corporate transactions and his expertise in the health and social care sectors will be a real asset to the firm and our clients. Oliver will help us further develop our Corporate, Commercial and Banking presence in the region, which we see as a core market for us given the quality of our client base and the SME businesses in the area.

“Over the last few years we’ve invested heavily in our Corporate, Commercial and Banking team and the strategy is paying dividends.  We’ve proved repeatedly that we can be a match for any firm locally or nationally, with deals ranging from the recent acquisition of Broads Tours to the sale of Aspall to Molson Coors Brewing Corporation.  We’re winning an increasing number of new instructions due to our ability to work as a team across offices, as well as the sheer strength and depth of our talent pool.”

The 2020 edition of The Legal 500 – the authoritative guide to the UK’s leading law firms – awarded Howes Percival top tier rankings in 12 different categories including Corporate and Commercial.  For more information on Howes Percival’s corporate team visit: https://www.howespercival.com/services/corporate/
