Howes Percival’s employment law team in East Anglia continues to grow from strength to strength with the arrival of Laura Brown, who has been appointed legal director.  Laura joins the firm’s Norwich office from Birketts LLP.

Laura has a wealth of experience in acting for employers, providing practical solutions to clients on both contentious and non-contentious HR issues. She advises clients ranging from international groups to start-ups within various industries including technology, education, energy and renewables, motor, manufacturing, and food sectors.  Laura regularly hosts and presents training events for clients on employment law topics including equality and diversity, managing investigations, and modern slavery.

Howes Percival’s employment team provides tailored, commercial employment law and HR advice. The team prides itself on providing clients with cost effective solutions, on the full range of employment matters from contracts of employment and handbooks to TUPE and disputes in the High Court and Employment Tribunal claims to Data Protection (GDPR) and pensions and benefits issues.  The team is ranked as Tier 1 in the 2021 edition of The Legal 500 – the authoritative guide to the UK’s leading law firms.  The Legal 500 recommends firms and lawyers based on independent research, interviews, and client feedback.

Welcoming Laura to the firm, employment law partner, Matthew Potter commented “Laura makes a great addition to the Howes Percival employment law team. We pride ourselves in taking a real interest in our clients and their businesses as well as providing commercial, no-nonsense advice.

Laura has a sound track record in doing just that – always with a smile.  Laura also has considerable experience in delivering effective and often essential in-house training to clients on subjects as diverse as modern slavery and equality and inclusion.

“Our employment law team has seen significant financial growth in recent years, a trend that has continued despite the pandemic. The continued success of the team is founded on a healthy culture of cross office co-operation as well as providing opportunities for junior lawyers to grow and achieve their career goals with the firm.  Happy lawyers and happier clients.”
