We don't like to talk about ourselves but...

We didn’t always do this, of course. We gave up proper 'in-house' PR jobs to prove something to ourselves. We wanted to see if we could create a different kind of PR agency. One that really listened to clients, was more attentive to the detail and more strategic in its approach.

But more than anything, we wanted to create an agency that really delivered results which made a difference to the client.

MAW Communications was founded by Gordon Maw.  For many years he was Director of Communications for Virgin Money. In that time he was a high profile industry face on TV and a regular commentator on financial services issues in the national press. 

A serial consumer champion he led Virgin’s campaign for greater transparency and improved standards in the financial services industry.

Gordon remains a regular current affairs commentator on TV with recent appearances including Channel 4's 'Dispatches' and BBC Three's 'Mischief'.  A member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, he is in demand as a public speaker, strategic communications consultant and media trainer. 

Before becoming a ‘Virgin’, Gordon spent eight years at Norwich Union in various marketing and communications management roles.

As a result, we retain more than a passing interest in financial PR working with clients looking for investment, credit card, pensions, insurance and mortgage PR.  We have also developed a speciality for professional services PR including legal services, accountants and accountancy services.
