Insurer NIG strengthens Birmingham office

Insurer NIG has strengthened its Birmingham office with three new appointments as part of the restructure of the business announced earlier this year. 

Mandie Jarrett, John Flaherty and Wayne Gadd have been appointed as Senior Business Development Managers - new positions designed to support key broker relationships across the region. 

Before joining NIG, Mandie Jarrett was Regional Development Director at leading National broker, Heath Lambert, where she successfully launched the company’s new city centre Birmingham office. 

John Flaherty has 20 years’ experience, in a variety of sales and underwriting development roles, in the insurance industry.  He joins NIG from Zurich Insurance where he was a Senior Account Executive.

Wayne Gadd joined NIG in 1997.  He has been promoted from within the insurer having previously worked from the Leicester office as a Field Underwriter responsible for building relationships and developing business with East Midland brokers.              

The team will be headed up by Andy Jones who recently joined NIG from Primary General Insurance Ltd as Area Business Manager – Midland Region.   Andy commented, “We’ve got a very strong team in the Midlands now and will be increasing the time we spend face to face with brokers across the area with these appointments.  The early signs are very encouraging indeed and working closely with our underwriting team we have already seen evidence of our increased appetite when we secured a large Property Owners portfolio worth almost £1m from AXA Insurance.  I am very confident indeed that we have the experience and the underwriting support to make a real difference to brokers in the Midlands area.”
