A PR agency that just looks after its existing clients rather than chasing new ones all the time?

We are a small but perfectly formed PR agency, loved by a tiny handful of people worldwide.  All of our business is based on referrals and recommendations from clients or journalists.

We’re not for everyone – in fact we decline to pitch for around 80 per cent of the approaches we receive.  If we don’t believe we can transform your reputation and name awareness we will say so.  If we don’t think we are the right agency for you, we will tell you.

We are different to most PR agencies in that we aren’t simply out to accumulate clients – all of our business tends to be on long term retainers rather than projects, so we don’t need to keep churning new business.  As a result, we spend all of our time getting results for existing clients rather than worrying about where the next piece of new business is coming from.

MAW Comms was set-up by Gordon Maw, formally Director of Communications within the Virgin Group. Gordon has appeared as an expert commentator on programmes such as ITN’s News at Ten, BBC Breakfast, Sky News, Channel Four News, Radio Four’s Today Programme, Radio Five Live and Channel Four’s Dispatches and been quoted in everything from the FT to The Sun.

MAW Comms have worked with and advised a huge range of business leaders, sports stars and celebrities including Sir Richard Branson, The Strictly Come Dancing stars, Ben Fogle, Head of the British Army Sir Richard Dannatt, Gocompare.com’s founder and CEO Hayley Parsons, F1’s Mark Webber and Team GB Olympic medal winners such as Jamie Baulch and Nick Gillingham.

What people say about MAW Comms:

Hayley Parsons OBE, CEO, Gocompare.com:

“We love you and you are simply the best!”

Simon Middleton – Brand Strategy Guru:

“MAW Communications are always highly considered and thoughtful in their approach: strategic, but also very quick to act when opportunities arise. A great PR agency, with whom I look forward to working well into the future.”

Paul Hill – Content Director, Further Online and former Business Editor of the EDP and Archant Anglia

“As a business journalist, I was often asked to recommend someone who could help a company with their communications, whether they needed strategic advice or help with a tactical PR issue. I never hesitated to recommend MAW Comms. Probably ought to have invoiced them for that…”

Andy Smith – Head of Media Relations at Santander UK plc

Excellent and concise communicators. The Gocompare.com work is fantastic.

Jonathan Briggs – Business Development Manager at Larking Gowen

“Gordon takes time to understand what it is you want out of your comms – and puts a lot of effort in to help you win over (sell to) other stakeholders. He has a no nonsense approach which is softened by his ability to enjoy and get on well with people.”
